Image Processing With Python To Get Portrait Made Up Of Dices

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

Hello,

Today is August 30. Today is the date when modern Turkey declare it's independency. On the occasion of this important date in our nation, I would like to share my latest work with you.

Beginning from my childhood, I am always excited with the works that involve both art and math in a harmony, such as creations of Sinan the Great Architect, Da Vinci, Mandelbrot and Seljuk artisans.

A year ago, I encountered an artist that uses game dice to form portraits of celebrities. According to the artist, he spends 2 weeks on average using this trial and error method. At that moment, I realized that I could use my data mining and Python skills to reduce this time. In this work of mine where I want to melt art and math in the same pot, my model is The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to which I owe all of my existence.

By using this algorithm, I can process any image to convert it into a dice form.

Thank you for your attention,

Best regards
